Be a Festival Maker at the Repton Festival and help make it happen

Volunteers are an essential part of what makes the Repton Festival special.

There are lots of ways in which you can support and enjoy the festival whatever your skills. Throughout the weekend, the events take place in the spectacular buildings and grounds of Repton School, in the heart of the village.

In 2026 the festival runs Friday 3rd July to Sunday 5th July and there is a job for you whatever time you can afford and whatever your interests. Your talents will improve the overall visitor experience by helping out wherever needed.  You can even add your activities to your CV; use your volunteering to satisfy Duke of Edinburgh requirements, Scout & Guiding awards or just to show experience in events. As a “thank you” for giving your time, we offer you free admission to an event of your choice. We would love to have you join our band of Festival Makers.

Festival Maker Roles

There is a variety of volunteer roles available, from welcoming visitors and supporting activities to helping behind the scenes, so you can choose the opportunity that best suits your interests and skills. As a Festival Maker, you are welcome to join us for as little or as long as you wish.

Volunteer Coordinator

Supporting and guiding our team of Festival Makers, helping everyone feel confident, informed and in the right place at the right time throughout the festival.  This role begins weeks before the festival itself.

Meet, Greet & Support Hospitality team

Helping to ensure events run smoothly and on schedule by welcoming guest presenters, performers & authors, ensuring they have everything they need for their session.

Family Fun Team

Based at the Hive, The Family Fun events are devised to appeal to all ages and have a number of activities specially aimed at children.  The Hive just buzzes with fun and you can contribute to that.

Event Marshalls

Welcoming visitors to each venue, assisting with seating and accessibility and checking tickets.

Site & Audience Team

Working with Repton Enterprises on all matters Health & Safety, potentially including First Aid where qualified.  Erecting tents, gazebos and signage (Friday 3rd) and dissembling (Monday, 6th).

Box Office

Coordinating ticket sales.

Festival Gate at the Arch

Welcoming visitors to Repton Festival. Checking Paddock Passes and providing programme booklets, maps and details of special events.

Marketing & Publicity

Working with our marketing director, supporting distribution of advertising material, promoting the weekend, posting on social media and the website. Supporting artistes and presenters with social media. Photography of events over the weekend.  This role begins weeks before the festival itself.

Book & Gift Shop

Festival Makers to sell books, both new and second hand, and Festival merchandise.

Bar and Beer Tent

We need bar staff on Friday night, when the Festival begins with a spectacular concert.  The bar will be offering drinks and cocktails linked to the performance – so, mixologists – we need you! Throughout Saturday and Sunday, a beer tent is available on the paddock. We also need help with moving and replenishing stock and collecting glasses.

Please don’t think for a moment that you’ve to stick to just one role. You could work at the bar and then marshal an event you want to see; act as host to an author and then help with the signing and book sales; welcome visitors at the Arch and then help the children out with a craft activity. It’s important that you have fun and you enjoy your time at the Festival.
